For my learning objective I believe I will explore the resource ToonDoo. This is a free comic generator which allows individuals to develop visual stories for a viewing audience. The resource gives students the opportunity to express their creativity through comic strips allowing them to explore different images and participate in a multitude of conversations. This resource would truly be beneficial for the visual learner as textual information is presented in an interesting, appealing manner to captivate student interest. "According to Versaci (2001) being exposed to comic books helps develop children's "analytical and critical thinking skills" and Toondoo helps foster this as it is an easy way to create cartoons, leaving more time to develop characters, stories, and text" (ICTAAcrossCurriculum). As an educator it is our responsibility to ensure students are motivated to learn, which can only be done if we are willing to improve our knowledge on the resources around us.
This resource has a variety of images that students can select from or if they wish to make their comic more personal they have the capability to upload their own photos from a device. This app allows those who have a passion for creativity to express themselves as well. TooDoo appears to be quite the fascinating resource which both students and teachers can benefit from. I enjoy presenting information in a creative style so I believe this will be beneficial in future teaching endeavors. For more information visit the link below!
